Ethical responsibilities of CPAs and tax accountants to the client
Entire books have been written about this subject, but I would like to focus on taxation. We have an ethical responsibility to protect our clients while enforcing the law. The important concept for you to understand is that this is not a case of us versus them. The proper way to handle this is to protect the client by making sure that they are compliant inside the law.
Any client who is silly enough to ask us to break the law will be shown the door. We have an ethical responsibility to protect you. If you don’t want us to do that, then you should find someone else.
