The deadline for filing is approaching on August 2nd, and I don’t want anyone to miss it, being forced to pay penalties. We have contacted all of you in the past in reference to this, so the following should just be a refresher.
1 – If you are a Salary Solutions client and we normally electronically file your payroll tax returns then nothing will change. Your payroll tax returns have already been filed.
2 – If you have a payroll service that normally e-files your returns, and you have asked us to electronically file your Federal 941 to claim the ERC, then you need to make sure that your payroll service has actually filed your state and unemployment tax returns. Confirmation of your e-filed Federal 941 will be forthcoming.
3 – If we normally prepare your quarterly payroll returns in a paper format, and you have asked us to e-file the Federal 941 to take advantage of the ERC, then you will still need to file the State 941 and the unemployment returns on your own.
4 – If you are an ERC Client, and we have determined that we cannot claim the credit in the 2nd Quarter due to your needing the payroll for forgiveness on your PPP Loan, then you are responsible for handling your own payroll tax returns if we don’t normally e-file them.
If you are an ERC Client and you would like us to e-file your return, but have not provided us with all of the information necessary then please get your information into us today. We cannot guarantee that it will be completed at this late date, but we will certainly try.

As Chicago documented 291 new C-19 cases yesterday, up from 90 the day before, doctors are saying that the Delta Variant is fueling the continued rise in new cases. The problem is that this may be just the beginning.
The first that I’d heard about the other variants was our mayor’s warning a couple of days ago. So I did some research and have discovered as least three other variants named Alpha, Lambda, and Gamma.
Of those, the Lambda Variant which was initially discovered in Peru, is getting the most press because of a recent case found in Houston. Doctors are saying that the most effective defense against these new strains is immunization, although no major case studies have been completed to test our current vaccine’s effectiveness against these variants.
I’m not a doctor, I don’t even play one on tv, but my point is that this nightmare isn’t over by a long shot. You need to be ready.
Have your plans in place. Think through your issues. Our elected officials seem to be getting us ready for another shutdown. I know a lot of people who aren’t ready for another one. Mentally, a backwards slide is never easy, but you need to get over it and soldier on.
