About Us

Mr. Amundson is the creator and founder of our firm. A graduate of The Latin School of Chicago and Depaul University, Mr. Amundson is a third generation Chicago entrepreneur. Upon graduation from DePaul in 1989, he began his first business which would ultimately become Accounting Solutions Ltd. He has concentrated his practice in the areas of commercial tax preparation and filing for businesses, estates, and trusts.

Mr. Amundson has been an advocate for small business owners and entrepreneurs in the Chicagoland Area for over 25 years. He has successfully represented numerous clients in income, payroll, and sales tax audits before The Internal Revenue Service, The Illinois Department of Revenue, The Illinois Department of Employment Security, and The Chicago Department of Revenue. He is licensed at the federal level, and is able to practice anywhere in The United States.

Mrs. Amundson comes to our firm with a background in office management and administration. She is a 1986 graduate of California State University at Fullerton with a communications degree. Prior to joining the firm in 1998, Julie spent several years in human resources and sales management.

Sales management with staffing and marketing firms in both Chicago and California. Mrs. Amundson’s duties include customer service, billing, payables, client record documentation, payroll preparation, and assisting the president. Mrs. Amundson’s tireless efforts in making sure that our client’s questions are answered and that their needs are exceeded ensure client satisfaction at the highest levels.

Mr. Schwartz is a highly skilled CPA with over 35 years of practical experience serving the needs of small and medium sized businesses in the Chicagoland Area. An expert in the areas of Income, payroll, and sales tax, Jay has spent the majority of his career in the areas of retail, distribution, and manufacturing.His professional background includes financial and taxation preparation. In addition he has participated in review and audit teams for private and publicly traded companies. Jay’s tireless efforts and experience have proven to be not only invaluable to our firm, but also to our clients.

Mr. Johnson is a highly trained CPA with 10 years of practical experience in the Chicagoland Area. The majority of his career has been spent in the areas of Fraud Detection and Income Tax Preparation. His tax experience is at both the Corporate and Personal Levels. 

Mrs. Wegner is a veteran bookkeeper with over 35 years of experience in public and private accounting. Prior to joining our firm in March of 2005, Mrs. Wegner’s amassed knowledge in the areas of bookkeeping, payroll, and office administration. She has the tireless job of contacting clients to request information, the initial bookkeeping and logging of information, as well as the organization of our filing system. In addition to these duties, she routinely prepares payroll tax returns, annual filings, codes transactions, bank reconciliations, initial journal entries, and special projects.

Mrs. Karpenko joined our firm in January of 2013 with an extensive background in public accounting bookkeeping for midsize businesses. Elena specializes in new client set up, bank reconciliation, credit reconciliation, journal entries, and payroll tax return preparation. She also routinely prepares the final accounting for the preparation of business income tax returns.

Mrs. Mischka joined our firm in October of 2013 with an extensive history in bookkeeping and payroll for smaller businesses. Lisa loves to organize and is very detail oriented. She specializes in coding checks, reconciling bank and credit statements, routine journal entries, and sales tax accounting. Lisa has been educated extensively in payroll tax preparation, and is an integral part of our team.

Mrs. Vintila joined our firm in May of 2014 having an extensive background in personal income tax preparation from another public accounting firm. She recently finished a B.S. in Accountancy and is in the process of finishing a four year degree. Maria specializes in coding checks, bank and credit reconciliation, routine journal entries, payroll reconciliation, and personal income tax return preparation.
