Gas Station Sales Tax Return-Completed and Auditable Chicago Illinois
Believe it or not, this is one of the most difficult things to do in the public accounting industry.
The problem is that there are so many different percentages and sales tax situations to handle in this type of business. You really need someone who know what they are doing.
Let’s illustrate this with an example. You have a gas station with a mini-mart that sells food, cans of pop, and beer. In addition you have a car wash in the back, and a guy on the side doing auto repairs. Need I say more? Everything that I just mentioned has a different treatment on a sales tax return.
But the real problem is creating an auditable sales tax return. What if your z-reports are all wrong? What if the guy you hired to watch your place from 2AM till 8AM pushes all the wrong numbers on the register when they are ringing up a sale? What do you do then? Oh, and by the way, did I mention that the register was $100 short when you came in that morning?
