This new bill provides the following
– $1 Trillion for State and Local Governments
– A $200B Fund for Essential Worker Hazard Pay
– $75B for more Covid-19 testing
– Another round of direct payment to Americans of up to $6,000
– An extension on the additional Unemployment Benefits till next January
Is anyone beginning to notice what it is missing? Somewhere near the
end, it provides the following…
– An additional $10B for The PPP Loan Program
– An Enhancement on the Employee Retention Credit
Well gee thanks. Isn’t that nice. Out of a $3 Trillion Aid Package, they set aside $10B for business owners. What about something that would actually help Entrepreneurs such as
– A Sales Tax Deferral
– Removal of Penalties and Interest
– Extending the PPP Loan beyond 8 weeks
– Property Tax Relief
– A Guarantee that our Unemployment Taxes won’t skyrocket
– A rescue plan for The Hospitality Industry that works better than The PPP Loan
The Republicans in The Senate have already said that The $3 Trillion Package is dead on arrival, if it ever gets there in the first place. Here’s my point.
None of this would even begin to be considered if they would just let us go back to business. I hope that you are beginning to realize just how important you really are in all of this.
Without Entrepreneurs, America would cease to exist.
Every product, every service. everything that you use was entrepreneured at one time by someone. If they would just pay attention to Entrepreneurs, everything else would fall back into place.
Hopefully, sooner or later, they will begin to understand.
Let me leave you with this one thought…
It’s been a hellish week. There hasn’t been a lot of good news recently. The numbers coming in on the virus get more depressing every day. Our elected officials seem more interested in shaking a bony finger at us then in actually lending a hand.
And there isn’t very much that any of us can actually do about it.
Take some time for yourself this weekend. Read a book. Play with your children. Love your spouse. Let your family know that they are respected and loved. Do something that will help you remember your smile.
It really does look like things are going to get worse before they get better. The only way that you will get through this in one piece is if you maintain your ability to make a reasonable decision.
